As an underwriter, I evaluate applicants for home and auto insurance. I am in control of managing the book of business by determining whether a prospective customer should be insured. I use various applications to analyze risk eligibility based on customer's coverage needs, as well as state and company regulations. I must consider numerous variables when rating home and auto policies. As an insurance underwriter, I must assume the risk involved in a contract with the individual.

I was responsible for providing a superior level of customer service that was effective, fast, and fair. I explained concepts to customers in an easy-to- understand manner. I received compliments from clients and customers about my knowledge and quick response rates. My responsibilities included investigating auto damage claims, writing damage repair estimates, and negotiating moderate/high complexity settlements with repair facilities and customers. I also explained coverage, estimates, claims, settlement, and rental processes to agents and customers. I am proficient in all computer systems that I have worked with and am experienced in teaching team members how to utilize the computer systems.

I oversaw all business and administrative aspects of the service center. I hired, trained, and evaluated technicians, and ensured that the staff underwent continuing education. In addition to managing personnel, I also handled marketing by setting special promotions, and ensured customer satisfaction.
